I'm in treatment every three weeks. I don’t fit the stereotype of someone with cancer – but that doesn’t mean I’m okay. The pain, the fatigue, the reality of it – it’s still there. We’ve created this image of what a cancer patient should look like, and I don’t match it, so people don’t see it.
We don’t get a choice in what happens in our bodies. I sometimes get angry and think, “Why me?” But I try to focus on what I can control: how I respond. I choose to live my life positively.
