People often say, “You look really well.” And that’s a compliment – I want to look well. I brush my hair, put on lipstick – I present well. Sometimes it comes from people who know what I’ve been through and are happy to see me having a good day.
But sometimes it comes from a lack of understanding. People think, “If you’ve got cancer, why do you still have your hair? Why don’t you look frail?” Or they assume I’m cured because I still look okay six years on.
